Apoquel Chewable Tablets 16mg is a fast-acting treatment and control for itching and skin inflammation in dogs. It is uniquely formulated to provide rapid relief from allergic itch and clinical signs of atopic dermatitis without the side effects commonly associated with steroids. The highly palatable pork-flavoured chewable tablet making them easy to give and can be given with or without food.

Please note, this is a restricted veterinary medicine in New Zealand (ACVM Registration No. A011921). This is the Chewable version, which is different from original film-coated Apoquel tablets. You will need a prescription from your veterinarian explicitly stating that "chewable" tablets are to be dispensed. 

Common use

Apoquel Chewable Tablets for dogs are commonly used for:

  • Treating and controlling itching and inflammation associated with allergic dermatitis (caused by flea allergy, food allergy, or contact allergy)
  • Treating and controlling the clinical manifestations of chronic atopic (environmental) dermatitis

 

Dosage & administration

  • Administer orally as directed by your veterinarian (typically given twice daily for the first 14 days, dropping to once daily for maintenance therapy)

  • Store below 25°C.

First-time prescription orders

To order veterinary prescription medications from us, follow the steps below:

  • Obtain a prescription: If your vet recommends medication for your pet, you must obtain a paper prescription from them.
  • Place your order online: You can place your order directly through our website by selecting your items and proceeding through checkout. Ensure the correct strength and quantity of pharmacy medications is selected as per the prescription.
  • Send the prescription to us: If you didn't upload to the order placed through our website, ensure you email a clear photo to us. Then, you must post the original prescription within 7 days of writing to the address below. Alternatively, your vet can email the script directly to info@myvet.co.nz.

  • We'll process your order: We begin processing your order only after both the order and prescription are received. Please follow up with your vet if you do not know.


Repeat prescriptions

If your prescription includes repeats, we’ll keep it on file for future orders, but we need to receive the original within 7 days of the date written on it unless we received it directly from the vet. You do not need to send a new copy each time unless it has expired or you have no repeats. You can reorder through your My Vet account dashboard.

 

FAQs

Q: Do I need to visit my veterinarian about my pet?

A: Yes! We cannot prescribe medication for your pet as a veterinarian needs to personally examine your pet. Buying pet prescription medication online is a great way to save money and add a little convenience to your busy life. However, it is not meant to be a replacement for visiting your local veterinarian in person.

Q: Is this the same as standard Apoquel tablets?

A: No, these are the new pork-flavoured chewable tablets. If your prescription is for standard film-coated Apoquel tablets, we cannot swap them unless your vet updates the script. You can find our standard film-coated Apoquel tablets HERE.
