The ADAPTIL (DAP) Collar contains a synthetic version of the natural appeasing pheromone produced by nursing mother dogs. This pheromone helps provide reassurance and comfort, making the collar a natural and convenient way to support dogs experiencing stress-related behaviours.
ADAPTIL can help puppies and adult dogs feel more secure in stressful situations and can improve responsiveness to behaviour therapy and training. Clinical studies have shown that D.A.P. helps reduce stress and promotes better adaptation to everyday challenges.
Uses
-
Helps reduce stress during loud noises, travel, boarding, and changes in environment
-
Supports learning and socialisation
-
Helps prevent stress-related behaviour issues as pets grow
Instructions
-
Place a finger in the plastic loop on the inside of the collar near the buckle.
-
Pull the thin plastic tab to uncoil the collar.
-
Fasten the collar.
-
Place it over your dog’s head and adjust so it sits comfortably around the neck.
-
Tighten until snug—no more than two fingers should fit between the collar and your dog’s skin.
-
Ensure the collar is secured inside the buckle.
-
Trim any excess length.
The ADAPTIL Collar works for up to 4 weeks. Replace as needed.
Keep the collar on at all times, except during bathing or shampooing. The collar will not release pheromone when wet and should be put back on once your dog’s coat is dry.
Cautions
-
Remove before bathing or shampooing.
-
Not recommended for dogs with extensive skin lesions.
-
Duration of use depends on the type and cause of stress and may be complemented with behaviour therapy.
The collar may also be used alongside ADAPTIL Diffuser or ADAPTIL Spray if additional support is needed.
